Any person desiring to run, conduct or show a carnival with tents, booths and other structures on any of the streets, ways, lots or blocks within the city limits shall first pay a license fee therefor of ten dollars ($10.00) and provide the city council of the city with liability insurance, insuring the city in a minimum amount of one million dollars ($1,000,000.00). No person shall sell, give away or attempt to sell or give away, either as principal, clerk or servant, any cigarettes, cigarette papers or any cigarette tobacco, including thereby any and all paper and mixtures used or to be used in the making of cigarettes, without first obtaining a license therefor.

There shall be paid as a license fee under this section the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) per year, and all licenses issued under this section shall expire on May 1 next after the date of issuance. Any person taking out a license under this section at any time after the commencement of the then current year shall pay into the city treasury, in advance, a sum at the rate of ten dollars ($10.00) per year for the remainder of the year; provided, that no license shall be issued under this section for less than one-fourth (1/4) of a year. Any person desiring to run, conduct or hold a garage or yard sale within the city limits shall first pay a license fee therefor of five dollars ($5.00). No more than four (4) licenses shall be issued to any household address for garage and yard sales during any calendar year. A license shall not be issued nor valid for a period exceeding three (3) consecutive days. (Ord. 396, 9-21-1992)

3-8-4: DAYCARE CENTERS: linklink


(A) The definition of daycare center set forth in the child care act of 1969, 225 Illinois Compiled Statutes 10/1 et seq., is hereby adopted by and for the city of Momence, Illinois, including any subsequent amendments to or revisions thereof.


(B) The operator of any daycare center located within the city of Momence shall annually register said daycare center with the city of Momence by providing the following information:

1. The physical address where the center is located; and

2. The name and address of the operator of the daycare center.


(C) If the location of the daycare center is changed, the operator of the daycare center shall notify the city of Momence of the new address within ten (10) days thereof. (Ord. 587, 5-2-2005)
